Just want Till Eulenspiegel - German?
Hello there! Do you hear the sound of jingling bells and a hearty laugh? That’s probably me! My name is Till Eulenspiegel, and long ago, I wandered the dusty roads and busy towns of Germany. Some people called me a jester, and others called me a rascal, but really, I just loved a good joke. I saw that many people, especially the rich and grumpy ones, never listened properly and always took themselves too seriously. I decided it was my job to teach them a lesson with a laugh. This is the story of how I did just that, a famous tale from the adventures of Till Eulenspiegel.
One day, I was feeling hungry and found a job helping a baker. The baker was a very serious man who was always in a hurry. He pointed to a big pile of dough and grumbled, 'I'm too busy for the fancy breads today. You just bake some owls and monkeys for me!' Now, in Germany, 'owls and monkeys' was a funny name for a simple type of bread roll. But the baker didn't say that, did he? A mischievous idea popped into my head. I spent the whole night working hard, and when the sun rose, the bakery was filled with the most wonderful little breads you've ever seen. There were breads with big round eyes like owls and breads with long, curly tails like monkeys. I had baked exactly what he asked for! When the baker saw them, his face turned as red as a tomato. 'What is this?!' he shouted. I just smiled and replied, 'You told me to bake owls and monkeys, and so I did!' He was so angry he chased me out, but I managed to grab a few of my delicious animal breads for the road.

That baker learned to be very careful with his words after that! My stories were first told around fireplaces and in town squares hundreds of years ago, passed from person to person as funny tales with a clever twist. They were collected in a book around the year 1515, and since then, my adventures have been shared all over the world. Artists have drawn pictures of my pranks, and musicians have written songs about my travels. My stories remind everyone that it’s important to listen carefully, but it’s also important to laugh. They show that a clever mind and a good sense of humor can be more powerful than being grumpy or bossy. So, whenever you hear a funny riddle or see a silly joke, you can think of me, Till Eulenspiegel, and remember that a little bit of mischief can make the world a brighter place.
