The story

We Explore the Sky

Hello! We are the Korea Aerospace Research Institute. We are a team of helpers in a country called South Korea. Our job is to learn all about the sky. We look up at the clouds and the stars and everything that is far, far away. We want to understand more about space.

To learn about space, we have to go there! That is why we build big, tall rockets. Our rockets are very powerful. When it is time to go, they make a big WHOOSH sound as they lift off the ground. They go up, up, up, past the clouds and into the dark sky. One of our special rockets is named Nuri.

Our Nuri rocket has a very important job to do. It carries our special space helpers inside. The rocket flies very high, taking our helpers on a big trip into the sky. When Nuri gets to the right spot, it gently lets our helpers go so they can start their work. The rocket gives them the boost they need to fly on their own.

What are our space helpers? We call them satellites. Satellites are like our flying friends that live in space. After the rocket lets them go, they start to fly all the way around the Earth. They go around and around, looking down at our world below. They are always working hard for us.

Our satellites help people on Earth in many ways. Some of our satellites take pictures of the clouds to help us know what the weather will be. Others send special signals down to the ground. These signals help your family's car know where to go. We keep building rockets and satellites to explore the sky and help everyone.
