S.S.C. Napoli

Hello! We are Società Sportiva Calcio Napoli, but you can call us Napoli. We are a professional football club with a long and exciting history, and our home is the vibrant city of Naples, Italy. Our story began on August 25th, 1926, when we were founded to give the people of our city a team they could call their own, a team to support and cheer for through every match. When you see us play, you will notice our bright, sky-blue uniforms. This color is very special to us. It was chosen to match the beautiful waters of the Bay of Naples, a famous landmark of our city. Because of this, our fans and friends call us the 'Azzurri,' which is Italian for 'The Blues.' This name connects us directly to the heart of our home.

For many years, we worked hard to build our team and compete against other clubs in Italy. Then, in the 1980s, something truly special happened that changed our history forever. One of the greatest football players the world has ever known, a man named Diego Maradona, joined our club. His incredible skill and leadership inspired everyone around him. Playing with him was an amazing experience, and together, we reached new heights of success. This period became known as our golden era, a time when we showed everyone what we were capable of achieving.

Before Maradona arrived, we had never won the most important prize in Italian football. But with him on our team, that dream finally came true. In 1987, we won our very first Serie A title. Serie A is the top football league in all of Italy, so becoming the champions was a massive accomplishment. The entire city of Naples erupted in joy! People celebrated in the streets for days. It was a moment of immense pride for our club and for everyone in our community. Just a few years later, in 1990, we did it again, winning our second Serie A championship. These victories proved that we were one of the best teams in the country.

However, the story of any team has its ups and downs. After the incredible success of the Maradona years, we entered a very difficult period. Our club faced serious money problems that made it hard to keep competing at the highest level. These challenges grew until, in 2004, we had to start all over again from a lower football league. It was a tough and humbling time for us. But even when things seemed at their worst, we were never alone. We have some of the most passionate and loyal fans in the world, known as the 'tifosi.' They never gave up on us. Their constant cheers and support gave us the strength we needed to begin the long journey of rebuilding our club from the ground up.

Fueled by the loyalty of our fans, we began our climb back. We worked tirelessly to build a strong new team, bringing in talented players who shared our determination to succeed. Step by step, we made our way back to Italy's top league, Serie A. For many years, we competed well but couldn't quite reach the final goal of becoming champions again. We kept trying, never losing hope that our hard work would one day pay off. Finally, that day arrived.

In 2023, more than 30 years after our last championship win, we achieved the impossible. We won the Serie A title for the third time in our history! The moment was unbelievable. Once again, the streets of Naples were filled with joyful celebrations as our 'tifosi' celebrated the victory. This triumph was not just about winning a trophy; it was the wonderful result of a long journey of resilience, hard work, and the unbreakable bond between our club and our city. Our story continues today, as we proudly represent Naples and show the world our deep and lasting passion for the game of football.
