S.S.C. Napoli

Hello! We are a professional soccer team from the beautiful city of Naples in Italy. Our full name is Società Sportiva Calcio Napoli, but most people just call us Napoli. Our main job is to play the exciting game of soccer for our city and for all of our wonderful fans who cheer for us. When you see us on the field, you can always tell it's us because we wear special sky-blue jerseys. This color is so important to us that it gave us our nickname. People call us the 'Azzurri,' which is the Italian word for 'The Blues.' We are proud to wear our blue colors and represent our home.

We have been playing soccer for a very long time. Our team was first created all the way back in 1926. From the very first day, the amazing people of Naples have been our biggest supporters. They come to our games to cheer, sing songs, and wave flags. We play our home games in a huge stadium right here in Naples. It's a very special place for us because it holds so many of our memories. To honor one of our greatest players ever, the stadium is now named after Diego Maradona. Every time we step onto the field there, we feel the history and the support of our city.

One of the most exciting times in our history happened in 1984. That was the year a truly special player named Diego Maradona came to join our team. At the time, many people thought he was the very best soccer player in the entire world. He was incredible with the ball and could do things that seemed like magic. With his amazing skill and leadership, he helped us do something we had never done before. In 1987, we won the Italian championship! This special prize is called the 'Scudetto.' Winning it was a dream come true for our team and our fans. Just a few years later, in 1990, we did it again with Maradona leading the way. He became a true hero in the city of Naples, and people still talk about him today.

After those amazing championship wins, things got a little harder for us. We went through some difficult years where we didn't win as much. It was a tough time for our club and for our fans. But the people of Naples never gave up on us. Then, in 2004, we had a chance for a new start. A new owner named Aurelio De Laurentiis took charge and helped us begin again. We had to work very, very hard to rebuild our team and get back to Italy's top soccer league. Through all of that hard work, our fans were right there with us. They supported us the entire time, cheering for us even when things were difficult. Their belief in us helped us keep going.

We kept working to make our team better and better. We brought in many great new players who were excited to play for our city. Slowly but surely, we became a stronger and stronger team. And then, something wonderful happened. In the year 2023, after waiting for a very long time, we finally became champions again. We won the Scudetto! The entire city of Naples erupted with joy. People celebrated in the streets for weeks, waving flags, singing songs, and sharing their happiness. It was a moment we will never forget. Today, we continue to play our hearts out for our amazing fans. We are proud to represent the city of Naples when we play soccer all over the world.
