Just want World Health Organization?
Hello! We are the World Health Organization. That is a long name, so many people call us WHO for short. We started our work a long time ago, in the year 1948. Our job is a very important one. We help everyone in the whole world be healthy. We work with helpers and leaders in many different countries, all across the globe. Together, we work to make sure people are safe and feel their best. We believe that every single person should have the chance to be healthy.
One of our biggest jobs is to help people stay healthy so they don't get sick. We want to stop sickness before it can even start. We work hard to make sure that children can get their vaccines. A vaccine is a special shot that is like a superhero shield for your body. It is a little poke that helps protect you from getting sick. We also teach families about other ways to stay healthy. We show them why it is important to eat yummy, healthy food like fruits and vegetables. We also help everyone find clean water that is safe to drink.
Sometimes, a sickness can spread and make many people feel unwell at the same time. When that happens, we help countries work together as a team. We share important information with doctors and nurses. This helps them know how to take care of everyone and help them get better. By sharing and working as one big team, we can help stop sicknesses from going to new places. We are still doing this important work today. Our job is to help everyone live a long, happy, and healthy life.
