Just want World Meteorological Organization?
Hello! We are the World Meteorological Organization. Our name might sound long, but our job is easy to understand. We are a team that studies the weather, the climate, and the water all around the world. We look up at the big sky and down at the deep blue seas. We want to learn all about our planet's air and water. It’s a very big job, so we help countries everywhere work together.
Every day, we watch the sky to see what the weather will do. Will it be a sunny day, perfect for playing outside? Will it be a rainy day, when you need an umbrella? Or will it be a snowy day, great for building a snowman? Knowing about the weather helps keep everyone safe. When a very big storm is coming, we help tell people so they can get ready and stay safe inside their homes.
Our work isn't just about the sky. We also study the water in our big oceans and flowing rivers. This is so important for the food we eat. We help farmers understand the water. This lets them know when to give their plants a drink. When plants have enough water, they grow into healthy vegetables and sweet fruits for us to enjoy.
We learn so many amazing things about our planet every single day. The best part of our job is sharing what we learn. We give our information to countries everywhere. When we all share and work together as a team, we can better understand our beautiful world. We help everyone learn about the Earth’s weather and water.
