Just want Doñana National Park?
I am a place where soft, sandy hills roll like waves and shiny water mirrors the big blue sky. I am in a sunny country called Spain. I am a special home where birds with pink feathers stand on one leg and shy, spotted cats peek through the bushes. I am Doñana National Park.
For a very, very long time, I have been a happy place for animals. Even kings and queens loved to visit and see all the amazing creatures living here. Then, some kind people decided I needed a special promise to keep all my animal families safe forever. On October 16th, 1969, they made that happy promise and called me a National Park. This meant I would always be a safe home for birds, bunnies, and the very special Iberian lynx with its pointy ears. I felt so happy that everyone wanted to protect me.
Today, I am a very important resting spot for birds flying on long trips from far away. They visit me for a snack and a nap before they fly on their big journey. I love it when children visit me, too. You can listen to the wind whisper in my pine trees and watch the animals play. I am here to show everyone how beautiful our world is and to remind you to always be a kind friend to nature.
