Spain's Sunny Story

Hello! Can you feel the warm sunshine on your face? Imagine soft, yellow sand between your toes and the happy sound of ocean waves splashing. Look up high, and you can see tall mountains with sparkly white snow on top. It is so bright and cheerful here. I am a special place full of sunshine and smiles. I am the country of Spain!

I have been here for a very, very long time. Many friends have visited me. A long time ago, around the year 200 BCE, people called the Romans came. They were great builders. They stacked big stones to make strong roads and bridges, just like you build with blocks. Much later, in the year 1492, a brave explorer named Christopher Columbus visited me. He had three big ships, and he sailed away from my beaches to find new parts of the world. It was a very big adventure!

Today, I am full of music and dancing! You can hear people clapping their hands and stomping their feet to a happy dance called flamenco. My people also love to eat yummy food. One favorite is called paella, a big pan of colorful rice that is so good to share. A famous painter named Pablo Picasso was born here on October 25th, 1881. He loved to use bright colors to paint pictures in fun and silly ways. He saw the world like a beautiful puzzle.

I love having visitors from all over the world. I am a place full of sunshine, stories, and friendship. I hope you will come say ¡Hola! to me one day. We can share stories and draw happy pictures together. I will always be here to share my joy and warm sunshine with you. Remember to always look for adventure and share your happy songs with friends, just like I do.
