Just want Teotihuacan?
Hello, little explorer. Can you feel the warm sun on your face? That is how I feel every morning, as the sun’s first rays touch my giant stone steps. From my highest points, you can see for miles and miles. A long, wide street connects my two biggest pyramids, like a stone ribbon stretching across the land. For a long time, people wondered who could have built such a magnificent place. I’ll tell you my secret. I am Teotihuacan, the City Where the Gods Were Created.
My story begins a very, very long time ago, around 100 BCE. A group of clever and mysterious people decided to build a great city right here in a valley in Mexico. They worked together, using their hands and their hearts to build something magnificent. The biggest project was my Pyramid of the Sun. Thousands of hands carried stone after stone, and by the year 200 CE, it stood tall and proud, reaching for the sky. By 450 CE, I was a bustling city full of life. More than 100,000 people called me home. My walls were painted with bright, colorful pictures of strong jaguars and beautiful birds. If you had walked my streets back then, you would have heard families laughing and friends talking all day long.
But after many wonderful years, things changed. Around the year 550 CE, my streets slowly grew quiet. My houses became empty. The people who first built me moved away, leaving behind a great mystery that no one has solved to this day. I slept peacefully for hundreds of years, a silent stone giant. Then, one day in the 1300s, a new group of people arrived. They were called the Aztecs. They looked up at my giant pyramids and walked down my wide avenues with wide eyes. They whispered, “This place is so amazing, it must have been built by gods!”. And that is how they gave me my famous name.

Today, I am no longer silent or a secret. People from all over the world come to visit me. They walk along my Avenue of the Dead and carefully climb my pyramids, their faces full of wonder, just like the Aztecs so long ago. I love sharing my ancient secrets with every person who comes to see me. I stand as a reminder of what amazing things people can achieve when they work together. I hope that when you hear my story, you feel inspired to build your own wonderful dreams.
