Just want The Sun?

The story

A Hello from the Sun

Good morning, sleepyhead. I am the light that peeks through your window to wake you up. I paint the sky with pink and orange colors to say hello to the world. I make the grass sparkle with morning dew and warm up the puddles after it rains. I am a giant, glowing ball of light, and I have a very special name. I am the Sun. I'm a very special star, the one at the very center of your space neighborhood.

I am billions and billions of years old. That is older than any person or any tree on Earth. My super important job is to send light and warmth all the way to you. My sunshine helps the flowers and trees grow big and strong. It makes the daytime bright so you can run and play outside. A long, long time ago, in the year 1543, a curious person named Nicolaus Copernicus figured out that your Earth dances all the way around me. Isn't that a fun dance. A little later, around the year 1612, another person named Galileo Galilei looked up at me with his special telescope and saw that I have little spots, like freckles on my face.

My light travels a very long way to reach you. It helps you see all the colors of your toys and the pictures in your books. When you eat yummy fruit and vegetables, you are eating a little bit of my sunshine that helped them grow. I am always working to keep your world bright and cozy. So whenever you feel my warmth on your face, know that I am shining just for you. I will be here to say hello every single morning.
