Boredom

Hi there. My name is Boredom. I’m the feeling you get when it feels like there’s nothing fun to do. I am that big sigh you let out when you look around your room and can’t find a single toy you want to play with. Sometimes, I can feel a little heavy and slow.

I like to visit on long, rainy afternoons when you can't go outside. I might pop up during a long car ride when you've already counted all the blue cars. Sometimes I even show up when you are surrounded by toys, but none of them seem interesting anymore. When I’m around, minutes can feel like hours, and you might just want to lie on the floor and stare at the ceiling.

But I have a secret for you: I’m not here to be boring. I’m here to give your brain a little rest so it can come up with amazing new ideas. When I show up, it’s a sign that you’re ready to be creative. I help you think of building the tallest pillow fort ever, writing a story about a talking squirrel, or inventing a brand-new game with your own rules. I give your imagination room to grow.
