The story

I am Digital Citizenship

Hi there! My name is Digital Citizenship. I'm the practice of being safe, kind, and smart whenever you're online. I help you make good choices, whether you're playing a game, chatting with friends, or doing research for school. Think of me as your friendly guide to being a good person in the digital universe, helping you protect yourself and be respectful to others.

Last week, a boy named Alex was excited to post a funny video of his friend Sam tripping during a game. He didn't ask Sam first, and when other kids started laughing, Sam felt really embarrassed. That's where I stepped in! I helped Alex understand that good friends protect each other's feelings, online and off. He took the video down and apologized. The next day, on November 5th, his teacher taught the class about asking for permission before sharing. Now, Alex is a superstar digital citizen who thinks before he posts, making the internet a kinder place for everyone.

I am always growing as the online world changes. I continue to help kids like Alex learn that their actions online have real effects on others. My story matters because being a good digital citizen is a skill you will use your whole life. Remember that every time you choose to be kind and thoughtful online, you are making the digital world safer and more welcoming.
