The story

Hello, I'm Growth Mindset!

Hi! I’m Growth Mindset. I am the happy feeling you get when you decide to try something new, even if it looks hard. I help you believe that your brain can get stronger and smarter, just like a muscle! When you think, 'I can learn this,' that's me helping you get ready for an adventure.

Sometimes you might feel like giving up. Maybe you tried to build a tall tower with blocks and it kept falling down. It can feel frustrating. You might think, 'I'm just not good at this.' That's when my opposite, Fixed Mindset, tries to make you stop. Fixed Mindset whispers that you should only do things that are easy for you.

But I am here to help. I whisper a special word: 'yet.' You're not good at it yet. I remind you that every time you try again, your brain makes new connections and learns. It gets a little bit stronger with each try. I help you think, 'What can I try differently this time?' Maybe you need to change your plan a little bit, and that's okay.

When you listen to me, you try again. Maybe you make the bottom of the tower wider so it has a stronger base. Suddenly, it stands tall. I help you feel proud of your effort, not just the result. I am here to help you learn, grow, and take on any challenge. Over time, I've learned that helping you believe in yourself is the most important job, and I will always be here to cheer you on.
