Standing Tall and Steady
I am learning about balancing. Balancing is when I stand very still and don’t fall over, even on one foot. When I balance, I am like a statue in the park. This helps my body get strong so I can run, jump, and play without wobbling.
I can try balancing. First, I stand with both my feet flat on the floor and feel how strong I am. Now, I pick one spot to look at in front of me. This helps me stay steady. I slowly lift one foot off the ground. I can lift my arms out to the side like they are branches on a tree. I can see how long I can stand tall.
When I practice balancing, it makes lots of things easier. I can walk on a line at the playground. I can get my pants on while standing up, and I can ride a scooter. Good balance keeps me safe and helps me have more fun when I play.
