The story

Staying Steady with Balance

I am learning about balancing. It is a cool skill that helps my body stay steady and not fall over. When I practice balancing, I can do fun things like ride a bike, walk on a curb without tipping, or play hopscotch. It's like standing on one foot just like a flamingo!

I can practice my balance. First, I stand up tall with my feet together and feel the floor under me. Then, I pick a spot on the wall in front of me to look at, which helps me focus. I slowly lift one foot a little bit off the ground. I put my arms out to the sides like airplane wings to help me stay steady. It is okay if I wobble a little; I just try again. After that, I switch to my other foot.

I use my balancing skills all the time without even thinking about it. When I ride my scooter, I am balancing. When I climb on the playground or walk up the stairs, I am using my balance. Practicing helps make these activities easier and safer, so I can play without tumbling over.

Practicing my balance makes my muscles and my brain stronger. It helps me from getting hurt because it prevents falls. When my body feels steady, my mind can feel calm and focused, which is great for learning at school. This is why balancing matters today. It helps me feel confident and in charge of my body.
