My Food Adventure
Sometimes there are new foods on my plate that I haven't seen before. My parent says trying new foods is like going on a little adventure with my mouth. It helps me discover new yummy tastes. It also gives my body the good stuff it needs to run, jump, and play all day long.
Here is how I can be a food explorer. First, I look at the new food. I see its color and shape, like a little green tree which is broccoli, or a small red ball which is a cherry tomato. Next, I give it a little sniff to see what it smells like. I can also touch it to feel if it is bumpy, smooth, or squishy. When I am ready, I take a tiny 'mouse bite' to see how it tastes. It is okay if I do not love it. It is super brave just to try.
Trying new foods helps my body get strong and healthy. Every time I try something new, I learn about different tastes. I might even find a new favorite food to eat. Being a food explorer is an important way I can take care of my body and help me grow.
