Just want Vitamins?
Vitamins are tiny helpers that my body needs to stay strong and healthy. I think of them like special fuel for my body, helping me run, jump, and learn. Even though my body only needs a little bit of them, they do big jobs. They help my eyes see in the dark and keep my skin healthy. Without enough vitamins, my body can't do its best work.
The best way I get all the vitamins my body needs is to eat a variety of colorful foods. I imagine a rainbow on my plate. Red strawberries help with my healthy skin. Orange carrots are great for my eyes. Yellow bananas give me energy. Green broccoli helps my bones, and blueberries are super for my brain. When I eat different colored fruits and vegetables, I make sure my body gets all sorts of different vitamins.
One very important vitamin is Vitamin D. It helps my body use a mineral called calcium to build my strong bones and teeth. When I play outside and the sun shines on my skin, my body can make Vitamin D all by itself. Getting enough Vitamin D helps me run fast and jump high without my bones getting weak. Sometimes, doctors might suggest a special vitamin D supplement if I don't get enough sunshine.
To make sure I get enough vitamins, I start my day with a healthy breakfast like oatmeal with berries or eggs with toast. For lunch, I can try packing a sandwich with colorful veggies or a salad. Snack time is a great chance for me to have an apple or some grapes. At dinner, I try to fill half my plate with different vegetables and fruits. When I eat a balanced meal with lots of colors, I am giving my body the vitamins it needs to feel good and strong all day long. It's like giving my body a superpower!
