The story

Leo the Asiatic Lion

Hello there! My name is Leo, and I'm a very special kind of lion called an Asiatic lion. I have a big, fuzzy mane around my face and a loud ROAR! I live in a warm, sunny place in India called the Gir Forest. It's my only home in the whole world! I have a special secret: a long, wiggly fold of skin on my tummy. It's like a little stripe that only my kind of lion has. It makes me feel extra special!

I don't live alone! I live with my big family, called a pride. We have lots of fun together. We love to play chase and take long, sleepy naps in the sunshine. When we get hungry, the lionesses, who are the mommies of the pride, go out to find our dinner. They are the best hunters! We all share our food together. Family is the most important thing.

My loud roar tells everyone in the forest that I am here, and I help keep our home safe and balanced. I'm a very important part of the Gir Forest. It's my job to be the king, and I love my home and my family very much. Taking care of the forest is the best job in the world!
