Just want Eastern Chipmunk?
Hi there. My name is Chippy, and I’m an Eastern Chipmunk. I have brown fur with cool black and white stripes down my back. My stripes help me hide when I play in the forest. I live in the big, green forest, and I love to scurry and scamper all day long. My favorite thing to do is look for yummy seeds and nuts to eat.
Do you want to know my secret? I have super stretchy cheek pouches. When I find a tasty acorn or a yummy berry, I stuff it right into my cheeks. They get so puffy and round. I can carry a whole pile of food back to my home all at once. It feels so funny to have full cheeks.
My home is a cozy burrow deep under the ground. I dig long tunnels all by myself. It is hard work, but I love my little home. It is a safe place to sleep and to store all my snacks. I keep my food there so I have plenty to eat during the cold winter.
I am a very busy helper in the forest. I bury my nuts and seeds all over the place to save them for later. But sometimes, I forget where I put them. That’s a happy accident. My forgotten nuts grow into big, new trees. I may be small, but I help the whole forest grow strong and healthy. It's the best job ever.
