The story

The Little Golden Frog's Big Secret

Hi there! My name is the Golden Poison Frog, and I'm a tiny, shiny frog. I am so bright and yellow, like a little drop of sunshine hopping on the forest floor! I live in a warm, rainy place called a rainforest. It is in a country called Colombia. It's the only home I've ever known, and it is full of big green leaves and yummy smells.

Even though I'm small, I am very special. My bright color tells everyone, 'Be careful!'. That is because my skin is poisonous. It's my superpower to keep me safe from bigger animals who might want to eat me. But guess what? I'm not born this way! I get my poison power from the little bugs I eat, like tiny ants and mites. I hop around all day looking for these tasty snacks. Munch, munch, munch! The more bugs I eat, the safer I am.

I love being a bright, golden jewel in my green rainforest home. Hopping from leaf to leaf, I help my home by eating lots of little bugs. I am a small but important part of this big, beautiful world. It is so important to take care of our rainforest homes so that little sunshiny frogs like me will always have a place to hop and play.
