The story

I am a Wildebeest

Hi there. I'm a wildebeest, and I live on the big, sunny plains of Africa. I have a long face, a fuzzy beard, and two curvy horns on my head. My favorite thing is being with my family. We live in a giant group called a herd. There are so many of us that when we run, the ground rumbles like a drum. It is so much fun to run with everyone together.

Every year, my whole family goes on a super long walk called the Great Migration. It's like a giant parade. We walk and run for many days to find fresh, green grass to eat and cool water to drink. My friends, the zebras, often come with us. It's more fun with friends. All day long, I munch, munch, munch on yummy grass. I'm like a lawnmower for the savanna. It is my favorite food and helps me stay strong for our big walk.

Eating all that grass is a very important job. When I munch away the old grass, it helps new, tasty plants grow for all the other animals to share. By walking and munching, my big family helps keep our home healthy and beautiful for everyone. Being a wildebeest is the best. I love helping my home and all my friends who live here with me.
