Just want Andrea del Verrocchio?
Hello! My name is Andrea del Verrocchio. I was born in a beautiful city in Italy called Florence, way back around the year 1435. Even when I was just a little boy, I loved to make things. My hands were always busy building, drawing, or shaping things from clay. When I grew up, I became an artist, but I wasn't just one kind of artist. I was a painter who used bright colors, a sculptor who made statues from stone and metal, and even a goldsmith who worked with shiny, precious gold. Creating art was my biggest joy, and I loved sharing beautiful things with the people of my city.
My workshop in Florence was a very busy and exciting place. Imagine a room filled with the smell of wet clay, fresh paint, and wood shavings. There were tools everywhere for carving and hammers for shaping metal. It was a place where ideas came to life. I didn't work alone, though. I was also a teacher, and I loved helping young artists learn how to create their own masterpieces. Around the year 1466, a very curious and talented boy named Leonardo da Vinci came to my workshop to be my student. He had so many questions and was eager to learn everything. He was one of my best pupils. We even worked together on big projects. Around 1475, we painted a famous picture together called *The Baptism of Christ*. It was wonderful to teach him and see him grow into an amazing artist.
More than anything, I loved making sculptures that could tell stories without using any words. I especially liked working with bronze, a strong, shiny metal. One of my favorite statues was of a brave young hero named *David*, which I finished around the year 1475. He stands so proud and strong. Later, I got a chance to work on my biggest project ever. Around 1480, the city of Venice asked me to make a huge statue of a famous general on a powerful horse. It was so exciting to design something so grand for everyone in the city to see. It took a lot of work, but I wanted it to be perfect.

I worked hard on my art for my whole life, from the time I was a young boy until I was a grown man. I lived to be about 53 years old, passing away in the year 1488. Even though I am no longer there, my art lives on. My sculptures and paintings can still be seen in museums and in the beautiful cities of Italy. I am so happy that I could teach amazing artists like Leonardo, who went on to create even more wonderful things for the world to enjoy.
