Hello, my name is Antonio Stradivari. I grew up in a beautiful city in Italy called Cremona. I was born there around the year 1644. My city was famous all over the world for one special thing: making musical instruments. As a boy, I loved walking past the workshops. I would peek inside to see the beautiful wood and hear the sounds of carving and music. I knew right away that I wanted to be an instrument maker. I was very lucky to become a student of the great violin maker, Nicolò Amati. He was a kind teacher and taught me all the secrets of his craft, showing me how to turn simple wood into something that could sing.
After many years of learning and practicing with my teacher, I was ready to start my own journey. Around the year 1680, I opened my very own workshop right there in Cremona. It was a dream come true. I loved every single step of making an instrument. First, I would search for the perfect piece of wood, tapping it to hear its special sound. Then, I would carefully carve the wood into the graceful shape of a violin. The most exciting part was applying my special varnish. It was a secret recipe that made the wood glow with a warm, beautiful color. My workshop was a family place, and I was so happy that my two sons, Francesco and Omobono, worked alongside me, learning the craft just as I had.
My biggest wish was to create the best-sounding instruments in the entire world. I wanted them to have a voice that was powerful and clear. Around the year 1700, I began what people now call my 'golden period.' During this time, I felt I had finally perfected the shape and sound of my violins, violas, and cellos. I worked hard every single day, and over my lifetime, I made more than a thousand instruments. To show that each one was mine, I put a special label inside with my name on it. I wanted everyone who played them to know they were holding a piece of my heart.

I spent my entire life doing the work that I loved. I lived to be 93 years old and passed away in the year 1737. Even though I am no longer there, my music lives on. Today, my instruments are called 'Stradivarius' violins, and they are some of the most famous in the world. The world's best musicians play them in big concert halls, filling the air with the beautiful sounds I always imagined. It makes me happy to know my creations are still bringing joy to people so many years later.
