Just want Carl Sagan?
Hello! My name is Carl. I was born in the year 1934. When I was a little boy, I lived in a big city called Brooklyn. At night, I would look out my window and see so many twinkling lights in the sky. I asked my parents, 'What are those?' They told me they were stars, and I wanted to know everything about them! I loved to imagine what it would be like to visit them one day. The stars were like sparkly friends waiting for me.
When I grew up, I became a scientist who studied the stars and planets. In the year 1977, I got to help with a very special project. We were sending spaceships, called Voyager, very far away to explore. I helped make a special golden record to put on the spaceships. It was like a letter to anyone who might live on other planets. It had pictures of people, sounds of babies laughing, and beautiful music from our world. It was our way of saying, 'Hello from Earth!'.
I wanted everyone to see how wonderful the universe is. So, in the year 1980, I made a television show called 'Cosmos'. On the show, I had a pretend spaceship that could go anywhere! We flew past giant planets, zoomed by sparkling stars, and imagined what it would be like to visit other worlds. It was so much fun to share the secrets of the universe with everybody. I wanted everyone to feel like an explorer, just like me.
I lived to be 62 years old, and my whole life was a wonderful adventure exploring the cosmos. After many years of learning and teaching, my time on Earth ended in the year 1996. People remember me for helping them look up at the night sky and wonder. I hope you always stay curious and keep asking questions about our amazing universe.
