Just want Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington?
Hello. My name is Arthur Wellesley, but many people know me as the Duke of Wellington. I was born a long time ago, on May 1st, 1769, in a city called Dublin, in Ireland. I grew up in a big family with many brothers and sisters. As a boy, I wasn't always the best student in school, but I loved music, especially playing the violin. My family moved to England, and I went to a famous school called Eton. It was there that I started to think about what I wanted to do when I grew up.
When I was a young man, in the year 1787, I decided to join the British Army. Being a soldier was hard work. I had to learn how to march, how to follow orders, and how to be a good leader. I traveled to faraway places like India. In India, I learned a lot about leading soldiers in battle and how to make smart plans. It was a very important time for me, and it prepared me for the big challenges that were coming.
The biggest challenge of my life was fighting in a series of long wars against a famous French leader named Napoleon Bonaparte. He wanted to rule over all of Europe. For many years, I led armies against him in countries like Spain and Portugal. Our most famous battle happened on June 18th, 1815. It was called the Battle of Waterloo. It was a very long and difficult day of fighting. But my soldiers and our friends were brave, and we won. Beating Napoleon at Waterloo helped bring peace to Europe after many years of fighting.
After my time as a soldier ended, I still wanted to serve my country. So, I took on a new job in politics. In 1828, I became the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. That’s like being the main leader of the government. It was very different from being a soldier. Instead of planning battles, I helped make laws and run the country. It was another way for me to help people and make my country a better place.

I lived a very long and full life. I lived to be 83 years old. Today, people remember me as the 'Iron Duke.' They remember me for winning the Battle of Waterloo and for serving my country as both a soldier and a Prime Minister. I am proud that I could help bring peace to the world.
