Enrico Fermi

Hello! My name is Enrico Fermi. When I was a little boy, I was very, very curious. I loved looking at the world around me and asking, 'How does that work?'. Everything seemed like a giant, wonderful puzzle, and I wanted to figure it all out. I would read big books and do little experiments to understand how things were put together.

I learned that everything in the whole world—you, me, the trees, and the stars—is made of teeny-tiny little pieces. These pieces are so small you can't even see them! They are like invisible building blocks. I thought that was the most amazing secret, and I spent my whole life playing with these tiny blocks to see what they could do. I found a new way to make them create energy, which was a very big discovery!

I also loved being a teacher and sharing my ideas with my students. It was so much fun to see them get excited about science, too! I lived a full and happy life exploring the world's secrets. My work helped other scientists make new discoveries, and my ideas are still helping people learn about our amazing universe today.
