Just want Ernest Rutherford?
Hello, my name is Ernest Rutherford. I was born a long, long time ago, on August 30th, 1871. I grew up in a place called New Zealand. When I was a little boy living on a farm, I loved to explore. I always asked questions about how the world works. I wanted to know what everything was made of and why things happened the way they did. My curiosity was like a little seed that grew bigger and bigger as I got older.
When I grew up, I became a scientist. I loved to study things that are so small you can't even see them. These tiny things are called atoms. Everything is made of atoms. Around the year 1909, I did a very important experiment. I found out that every single atom has a tiny, strong center. It was a big surprise. I decided to call this tiny center the 'nucleus'. Finding the nucleus was like finding a little seed inside a giant piece of fruit.
My discovery of the nucleus was very important. It helped other scientists understand how atoms are put together. Because of my work, a whole new kind of science began, called nuclear physics. I lived to be 66 years old. Today, people remember me as the 'father of nuclear physics' because I helped discover the amazing secrets hidden deep inside the atom.
