Just want Frederick Sanger?
Hello! My name is Fred Sanger. I was born in the year 1918. I was a scientist, which is like being a detective for tiny, invisible things. Ever since I was little, I loved figuring out how things worked. I thought the world was full of amazing puzzles just waiting to be solved. My biggest puzzles were the ones hidden deep inside our own bodies.
Inside our bodies, we have teeny-tiny building blocks called proteins. I wanted to see how they fit together. I looked at one called insulin, which helps keep our bodies healthy and strong. After a lot of peeking and poking, I figured out exactly how it was built! Later, I found a way to read the secret instructions in our bodies. These instructions, called DNA, tell your body how to grow and what color your eyes should be. It was like learning a secret code that makes you, you!
I loved being a scientist and solving those big puzzles. It was the most fun job in the world. I lived a very long and happy life and was 95 years old. The puzzles I solved help doctors and scientists understand our bodies better and find new ways to help people stay healthy. It makes me happy to know that my discoveries are still helping everyone today.
