Just want Friedrich Schiller?
Hello. My name is Friedrich Schiller. A long, long time ago, I was a little boy who loved words more than anything. I loved reading stories and making up my own poems. Words felt like magic to me. I would put them together to tell exciting tales about brave people and faraway places. I knew that when I grew up, I wanted to be a writer and share my stories with everyone.
And that’s just what I did. I wrote stories that people could act out on a big stage, called plays. My plays were full of adventure and heroes who always tried to do the right thing. In the year 1785, I also wrote a very happy poem called 'Ode to Joy.' It was all about how wonderful it is when people are kind to each other and live together like one big, happy family. I hoped my words would make people feel joyful and strong.
A famous music writer named Ludwig van Beethoven loved my 'Ode to Joy' poem so much that he turned it into a beautiful song. Today, people all over the world sing it and listen to the music. I lived to be 45 years old, and it makes me so happy to know that my stories about heroes and my poem about joy are still shared today, reminding everyone to be brave and kind.
