Just want I. M. Pei?
Hello! My name is I. M. Pei. When I was a little boy, I loved to build things with blocks. I was an architect. That's a fancy word for a person who draws and plans how buildings should look. I loved using shapes, like circles, squares, and especially triangles, to make something new and beautiful.
My job was like playing with the biggest building blocks in the world! I got to design tall skyscrapers, amazing museums, and special libraries. My favorite idea was to use glass to let the sunshine in. One day, I was asked to build a new entrance for a very old and famous art museum in Paris, France. I decided to build a giant, sparkling pyramid made almost entirely of glass! At first, some people thought it was a funny idea, but soon everyone loved how it glittered in the sun.
I loved creating beautiful spaces where people could gather, learn, and feel happy. I lived to be 102 years old, and my whole life was about building dreams out of glass and stone. My buildings are still standing all over the world for you to visit. I hope they make you feel inspired and remind you that with simple shapes and a big imagination, you can build anything.
