Just want Ibn Battuta?
Hello! My name is Ibn Battuta. I was born in a busy city by the sea called Tangier, in a country we now call Morocco, way back in the year 1304. Growing up, I loved learning new things. I studied to be a judge, and my family thought I would stay in my hometown forever. But I had a very big dream inside my heart: I wanted to see the world and all its wonders.
When I was 21 years old, in the year 1325, I decided it was time for my first big adventure. I set off on a special trip called a Hajj, which is a journey to the holy city of Mecca. It was a very important trip for me. I said goodbye to my parents and started my journey all by myself. I thought I would be gone for a year or two, but my journey was just getting started!
After I reached Mecca, my curiosity took over! I wanted to see everything. My short trip turned into a very, very long one that lasted for almost 30 years! I traveled to more than 40 different countries, which was almost the entire known Islamic world at the time. I rode on camels across hot, sandy deserts and sailed on big ships over stormy seas. I even met sultans in sparkling palaces. I saw amazing sights in places like Egypt, India, and even faraway China. My journey was not always easy. I survived big storms, escaped from pirates, and made many new friends everywhere I went.
After all my travels, I finally returned home to Morocco in 1354. The ruler of my country, the Sultan, heard about my amazing adventures and wanted everyone to know my story. He asked me to tell everything I saw to a writer named Ibn Juzayy. For many months, I told him all about the interesting people I met and the wonderful places I visited. He wrote it all down in a book called the Rihla, which means 'The Journey.'

I lived to be about 65 years old, seeing more of the world than almost anyone else during my time. My book, the Rihla, is still read by people today, and it lets them travel back in time with me to see the world as I saw it. Today, people remember me as one of the greatest travelers in history, and my story shows everyone that a curious heart can lead you on the most wonderful adventures.
