The story

Abraham's Big Adventure

Hello! My name is Abraham. A long, long time ago, I lived with my wife, Sarah, in a busy city called Ur. We had a nice home, but one day, God spoke to me. He asked me to pack up all our things, gather our animals, and go on a big adventure to a new land He would show me. It was a little scary to leave our home, but I knew it was the start of something very special.

So, we traveled for many, many days. We walked under the hot sun and slept under the sparkly stars. Finally, we arrived in a beautiful place called Canaan. God gave me a very special promise there. He told me to look up at the night sky. He said, 'Abraham, you see all those stars? One day, your family will be bigger than all the stars you can count!' Sarah and I were so happy to hear this, but we were also a little puzzled. We were getting very old and didn't have any children yet.

We waited and trusted. Then, when we were very, very old, the most wonderful thing happened! God kept his promise, and we had a baby boy. We named him Isaac, which means 'laughter,' because he filled our hearts with so much joy. I lived a very long and happy life, becoming the father of a great family. People today remember me as someone who was a good friend to God and who showed everyone what it means to have faith and go on a great adventure.
