Just want Jean-Henri Fabre?
Hello! My name is Jean-Henri Fabre. I was born a long, long time ago, in the year 1823, in a place called France. When I was a little boy, my favorite thing to do was play outside. I didn't have many toys, but that was okay! I had big, green fields and the warm sunshine to play in. I loved to lie in the soft grass and watch all the tiny creatures crawling and buzzing around me. I thought they were the most interesting things in the whole world.
I had so many tiny friends in the fields. I watched busy ants marching in a long line. I saw fuzzy caterpillars munching on green leaves. I found shiny beetles crawling on sticks and I listened very carefully to crickets as they sang their chirpy songs. I learned their secrets just by watching them quietly and being patient. When I grew up, I became a teacher. I loved showing children how amazing all the little bugs are. I taught them why it is important to always be kind to them.
I wrote down everything I learned in big books. My books were filled with stories about the secret lives of insects. I wanted everyone, everywhere, to know how wonderful they are. I lived a very long life, for 91 years, watching my tiny friends. I hope my stories make you curious to go outside and meet the amazing little creatures living all around you!
