Just want Johann Strauss II?
Hello, my name is Johann Strauss, but some people call me the Waltz King. I have loved music my whole life, especially my violin. When I was just a little boy, hearing a happy song would make my feet start to tap all by themselves. My father was also a famous musician, but he did not want me to play music. He wanted me to be a banker. So, when I was young, I had to practice my violin in secret, so he would not find out.
I loved to write happy, twirly music called the waltz. A waltz is a kind of music that makes you feel like you want to spin and dance around the room. In the year 1866, I wrote my most famous piece of music. It is called 'The Blue Danube.' I wrote it to sound like a big, beautiful river sparkling in the sun. When I would lead the big orchestra, I did not use a little stick. I would stand in front of everyone and lead them by playing my violin and dancing along with the music.
I wrote music for many, many years and lived a full life. Even today, a long, long time after I first wrote my songs, people all over the world still play my music. You might even hear it on New Year's Day to celebrate. I am so happy that my waltzes still make people smile and want to get up and dance.
