Just want Vienna?
I sparkle next to a big, flowing river. My palaces have sunny yellow walls, and my gardens are home to beautiful white horses that dance. The air is often filled with the sweet sound of happy violins and pianos playing beautiful tunes. People say I am a city of dreams. I love to hear children laughing in my parks and see families walking together on my old, stone streets. I am a place where music lives in the air. I am the city of Vienna, and I want to tell you my story.
My story began a very, very long time ago. Around the year 1200, kings and queens came to live with me. They built grand palaces with big, shiny rooms and rode in fancy carriages pulled by strong horses. I loved watching the royal parades go by. But my favorite thing in the whole world was always the music. So many wonderful sounds have filled my streets. More than 200 years ago, a very special musician named Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart lived here. He wrote happy, twirling songs that made everyone feel joyful and want to smile. A little later, in the 1800s, another kind man named Johann Strauss II wrote music that made everyone want to get up and dance a special spinning dance called the waltz. My heart felt so happy listening to all the lovely melodies. I became known as the home of music.
Today, I am still filled with music and laughter. Families from all over the world visit my parks to play and have picnics. They listen to beautiful concerts in my grand halls and eat yummy chocolate cake in my cozy cafes. You can still hear music everywhere you go, from the big opera house to the musicians playing on the street corners. I love sharing my beautiful buildings and happy songs with everyone who visits me. My tall church spires reach for the sky, and my palaces welcome friends from everywhere. My story is a song that never ends, and I hope you can come and hum along with me one day.
