Hello! My name is Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, but you can call me Wolfgang. I was born on a sunny day, August 28th, in the year 1749. When I was a little boy, I loved watching puppet shows my grandmother gave me. I would make up my own stories for the puppets and put on shows for my family. I always knew I wanted to spend my life with wonderful stories.
As I grew up, my love for stories grew too! I started writing my own poems and plays. I wrote about brave heroes, funny adventures, and big feelings. But I didn't just love stories; I loved science, too! I was curious about everything in nature. I especially loved colors. I would look at colorful flowers in the garden and watch how the light made beautiful rainbows in the sky. I even wrote a whole book about colors in the year 1810 to share my ideas.
I wrote down all my stories, poems, and ideas about science so that people could enjoy them for a long, long time. I lived to be 82 years old, and my heart was full of joy and curiosity my whole life. Even today, children and grown-ups all over the world still read my books, watch my plays, and learn from my ideas. My stories live on, ready for you to discover!
