Just want Khufu?
Hello! My name is Khufu. A long, long time ago, I was a king in a warm, sunny land called Egypt. We called our kings 'pharaohs.' I lived near a long, winding river called the Nile, and I ruled over my people.
As the pharaoh, I had a very big idea. I wanted to build something so big and so wonderful that it would last forever. Around the year 2580 BCE, I asked my people to help me build a giant pyramid. We used huge stone blocks that were bigger than cars. We stacked them up, up, up, so high they seemed to touch the sky. This became my Great Pyramid of Giza, and it was the biggest one of all!
My pyramid was built to be my special resting place after my time as pharaoh ended around 2566 BCE. I lived a full life as a king. Even today, thousands of years later, you can still see my Great Pyramid standing tall in the desert. It reminds everyone of the amazing things people in ancient Egypt could build.
