Just want King Philip II of France?
Hello, my name is Philip, and I was a king of France a very long time ago. I was born on August 21st, 1165, and my father was King Louis VII. When he passed away, the crown came to me. In the year 1180, when I was only 15 years old, I became the king. It was a very big responsibility for someone so young, but I knew my kingdom needed a strong leader. I was ready for the challenge of leading my people and making my country great.
From the moment I became king, I had a dream of making France a stronger and more unified kingdom. I knew that a great kingdom needed a great capital city. At the time, Paris was not as grand as I imagined it could be. I ordered the main streets to be paved with stone, which made them much cleaner and easier to travel on. Then, around the year 1190, I ordered the construction of a great defensive wall to circle the entire city and protect it from enemies. To make Paris even safer, I also began building a mighty fortress at the edge of the city. That fortress would one day become famous around the world as the Louvre.
Being a king in my time also meant being a warrior. In 1190, I traveled on a great adventure called the Third Crusade alongside another famous king, Richard the Lionheart of England. King Richard and I had a strong rivalry, and we often disagreed. Our arguments became so difficult that I decided I had to return to France to look after my kingdom. My most important goal was to take back the French lands that were being ruled by the English kings. For years, I fought to achieve this. Finally, in the year 1204, my army had a huge success when we conquered the important region of Normandy, bringing it back under French control.

Finally, in the year 1204, my army had a huge success when we conquered the important region of Normandy, bringing it back under French control.
My greatest moment as a warrior king came years later. On a hot summer day, July 27th, 1214, my enemies gathered a huge army to try and defeat me once and for all. We met on the battlefield at a place called Bouvines. The Battle of Bouvines was incredibly important. The fight was fierce, but my French soldiers were brave and determined. In the end, we won a great victory that day. This victory was more than just winning a battle; it proved to everyone, both inside and outside my kingdom, that France was now a powerful and united country.
My reign as king lasted for 43 years, and in that time, I more than doubled the size of the lands that were directly controlled by the king of France. I lived to be 57 years old. Long after my life ended, people looked back at all I had done to build up the kingdom and gave me the nickname 'Augustus'. My work to strengthen the government and unite the country helped make France a strong and important nation for many centuries to come.
