Hello! My name is Maximilian. I was a prince born a very, very long time ago, in the year 1459. I lived in a big, strong castle called Wiener Neustadt. I loved to play and use my imagination. I pretended I was a brave knight wearing shiny armor. I also liked to read stories about exciting adventures, fun jousting tournaments, and big parties with lots of food called feasts.
When I grew up, I became a real knight! In the year 1477, I married a wonderful and brave duchess. Her name was Mary of Burgundy. We loved each other very much. We ruled our lands together and had wonderful children. I worked very hard to keep all of our people safe and happy. Being a king was a big job, but I always tried my best to be fair and strong, just like the knights I read about in my storybooks.
I helped my family, the Habsburgs, become one of the most important families in all of Europe. They became kings and queens for many, many years after me. I lived to be 59 years old and passed away in the year 1519. People remember me as the 'Last Knight' because I loved adventure and being chivalrous, which means being brave and kind. My story can remind you to be brave, love your family, and always follow your dreams.
