Miguel de Cervantes: The Storyteller

Hello! My name is Miguel de Cervantes. I was born a long, long time ago, in a sunny country called Spain, around the year 1547. When I was a little boy, I loved to read. I would read any book I could find! Stories were like magic to me, filled with brave knights, funny friends, and exciting adventures.

When I grew up, I had my own adventures as a soldier. But my favorite thing to do was still making up stories. So, I decided to write a book! It was about a silly knight named Don Quixote who read so many books about adventures that he decided to become a knight himself. He put on old armor, found a skinny horse, and went looking for giants to fight. But the giants were really just windmills! His best friend, Sancho Panza, tried to tell him, but Don Quixote was too busy imagining.

I wrote the first part of my book in 1605. People loved it so much! It made them laugh and think about the power of imagination. I lived to be 68 years old, and I spent my life sharing my stories. Today, children and grown-ups all over the world still read about Don Quixote's funny adventures. My stories are my special gift, and I hope they make you smile, too.
