Just want Nebuchadnezzar II?
Hello! My name is Nebuchadnezzar II, but you can call me a king. I lived a very, very long time ago in a wonderful city called Babylon. Being a king was a big job! My father, Nabopolassar, was a king, too, and I learned how to lead and protect our people. I loved my city more than anything and wanted to make it the most beautiful and special place in the whole world.
My favorite thing to do was build! I wanted everyone who visited Babylon to say 'Wow!' I built a huge, beautiful gate called the Ishtar Gate. It was covered in shiny blue bricks and had pictures of amazing animals like lions and dragons to guard our city. I also built a giant palace and amazing gardens that looked like a green mountain full of trees and flowers right in the middle of the desert. Some people called them the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. It was a happy and colorful place for everyone to enjoy.
I worked hard my whole life to make Babylon a strong and wonderful home. I lived for many, many years, watching my city grow and shine. Today, my city of Babylon is in ruins, but people haven't forgotten it. If you go to a museum in a city called Berlin, you can still see the big, blue Ishtar Gate that I built! It helps everyone remember the great king I was and the amazing city I loved so much.
