Pau Casals: A Story of Music

Hello! My name is Pau Casals. A long time ago, in the year 1876, I was born in a town called El Vendrell in Spain. When I was a little boy, I loved music more than anything. The world was full of amazing sounds! My father was a musician, and he taught me how to play wonderful instruments like the piano and the flute. Music made me so happy, it felt like sunshine in my heart.

One day, I saw a special instrument called a cello. It was big and curvy, like a giant violin that you have to hug to play! I fell in love with its deep, warm voice. I practiced every single day, and soon my cello and I were best friends. We traveled all over the world, playing beautiful songs for people in big, fancy halls and small, cozy rooms. Sharing my music was my favorite thing to do.

I always believed that music was a special language that could bring everyone together and fill the world with peace and friendship. I lived to be 96 years old, and I spent my whole life sharing that belief. Today, people still listen to my cello music when they want to feel calm and happy. My music is my way of sending a hug to the whole world.
