Just want Phidias?
Hello! My name is Phidias. I lived a very, very long time ago in a sunny place called Greece. I was an artist, and my favorite thing to do was make big, amazing sculptures. Sculptures are like statues. I used stone, shiny bronze metal, and even gold to make my art.
I was asked to make some very special sculptures. One was of a wise goddess named Athena. I made her for a beautiful building called the Parthenon. She was as tall as a house and her clothes were made of shiny gold! I also made a giant statue of the powerful god Zeus. He was so big and amazing that people traveled from all over just to see him. They said he was one of the wonders of the world.
My statues were made a very long time ago, so you can't see them today. But people still remember them! They read stories about my giant, wonderful art and look at drawings of what my sculptures looked like. I am happy that my ideas still inspire other artists to create beautiful things for everyone to enjoy.
