Just want Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha?
Hello! My name is Albert, and I was a prince. I was born in a beautiful castle called Schloss Rosenau in Germany on August 26th, 1819. I grew up with my older brother, Ernest, and we loved to explore the forests around our home. Even as a boy, I loved learning new things, especially about science, art, and music. I also loved figuring out how to help people and make the world a better place.
When I was a young man, I went to visit my cousin in England. My cousin's name was Victoria, and she was the Queen! We became the best of friends and fell in love. We got married on February 10th, 1840. Moving to England was a big adventure. At first, some people weren't sure about a prince from another country, but I wanted to show them how much I cared. My most important job was to help Queen Victoria. We worked together as a team, and I was her closest advisor.
Victoria and I had a big, happy family with nine children! Being a father was one of my greatest joys. I also kept busy with projects to help the people of Britain. I worked hard to help end slavery around the world. My biggest idea was for a huge party to show off amazing inventions and art. We called it the Great Exhibition of 1851. We built a giant, sparkling building made of glass called the Crystal Palace. Millions of people came to see everything from steam engines to beautiful statues.
I worked very hard, but I became ill and my life ended when I was still young. I lived to be 42 years old, passing away in 1861. Queen Victoria and the whole country missed me terribly. To remember me, she helped build many famous places that you can still see today, like the Royal Albert Hall, a grand concert hall, and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. I am remembered for my love of family, my belief in progress, and for helping to bring new ideas to the world.
