Just want Robert Peary?
Hello. My name is Robert Peary. When I was a little boy, I loved to be outside. I loved big adventures, especially in cold places with lots of snow. I was born on May 6th, 1856. Even when I was young, I dreamed about going to faraway places and seeing the world. I wanted to explore places no one had seen before.
My biggest adventure was a long trip to the North Pole. The North Pole is the very, very top of our world. It is a very cold place, covered in ice and bright white snow. A big trip like that is too hard to do by yourself. I had brave friends who helped me. My good friend Matthew Henson came with me on my journey. We also had wonderful sled dogs. The dogs were strong and helped pull our sleds over the ice so we could carry everything we needed.
After a long, long time, we finally did it. In the year 1909, my team and I reached the North Pole. We were at the top of the world. To show that we had made it, we planted a big flag right in the snow. It made us so happy to work together as a team and reach our big dream. It was a very special day.
I lived to be 63 years old and passed away in 1920. People still tell my story today. I am remembered as a determined explorer who went on a great adventure. My friends and I journeyed all the way to the top of the world.
