Just want Steve Jobs?
Hello! My name is Steve. When I was a little boy, I was adopted by my wonderful parents, Paul and Clara Jobs. My dad had a big garage full of tools, and it was my favorite place to play! I loved seeing how things worked. I would take apart radios and TVs to see what was inside and then try to put them back together. It was like solving a fun puzzle.
As I got older, I met a friend who loved electronics just like me. His name was Steve, too! We called him ‘Woz.’ In the year 1976, we started a company together right in my family's garage. We needed a name for our company. I thought of the name ‘Apple’ because I liked eating apples, and the name sounded friendly and fun. That is how our big adventure, Apple Computer, began.
At Apple, we wanted to make computers that were easy for everyone to use. We made a computer called the Macintosh that you could tell what to do by clicking on little pictures. Later, we made the iPod so you could carry your favorite songs in your pocket. We also made the iPhone, a special phone you could use just by touching the screen. I loved making tools that helped people be creative and share their ideas with others.
I lived to be 56 years old. I always believed in thinking differently and following your heart. Today, people remember me for helping create wonderful tools that connect us all and let us share our stories, music, and art with the world. I hope you will always stay curious and dream big, too.
