Just want Victor Emmanuel II?
Hello! My name is Victor Emmanuel II, and I want to share my story with you. I was born a long time ago, on March 14th, 1820, in a beautiful city called Turin. My family was the House of Savoy, which was a royal family. Growing up as a prince, I learned all about being a leader, how to ride horses, and how to be a good soldier.
When I was a young man, the land we now call Italy wasn't one big country. It was like a puzzle made of many different small kingdoms and states. In the year 1849, I became the King of a place called Sardinia-Piedmont. I had a big dream: I wanted to put all the puzzle pieces together and make one united country for all Italian people. It was a very important goal for me.
A big dream like that is hard to achieve all by yourself! I had some very clever and brave friends to help me. My main helper was my prime minister, a smart man named Camillo Cavour. He was great at talking to leaders from other places and making plans. I also worked with a very brave soldier named Giuseppe Garibaldi. He led an army of volunteers called the 'Redshirts.' They were very courageous and helped bring the southern parts of Italy together so we could all be one.
With all our hard work, my dream started to come true! On March 17th, 1861, I was named the very first King of a united Italy. It was a wonderful day! People celebrated all over the land because we were finally one big country. A few years later, in 1871, the beautiful city of Rome became our capital. My biggest wish had finally happened—Italy was one country, strong and together.

I lived to be 57 years old, and I was so proud of what we all built together. Today, people in Italy remember me as the 'Padre della Patria,' which means 'Father of the Fatherland.' They remember me because I helped bring everyone together to create the wonderful country of Italy that exists today. It shows that when people work together, they can make amazing things happen.
