The story

The Gentle Path of Kindness

Hello. Do you know that feeling you get when you share a toy with a friend, or when you give someone a big, warm hug? It feels gentle and happy inside, doesn't it? I am that feeling of kindness. I am like a soft, quiet whisper that reminds you to be nice to everyone—to your friends, your family, and even the little bugs in the garden.

A long, long time ago, around the 5th century BCE, there was a kind prince who lived in a beautiful land called India. His name was Siddhartha Gautama. He had everything he could ever want, but he noticed that some people were sad. He wanted to find a way to make everyone feel happy and peaceful. So, he left his palace and went on a journey. He sat down under a big, leafy tree, called a Bodhi Tree, and thought very, very hard about how to find true happiness.

When the prince finally understood, he became known as the Buddha, which means ‘the one who is awake.’ And the wonderful idea he shared with the world? That’s me. I am Buddhism. I am a path that teaches people how to be peaceful in their hearts. Today, people all over the world follow my path to be kind, to share love, and to make the world a happier place for everyone.
