The story

Your Amazing Senses

I am your special secret for exploring. I help you see the big, bright yellow sun up in the sky. I let you taste a sweet, juicy red apple for a snack. Yummy. I help you feel how soft a little kitten's fur is when you pet it. So soft. I let you hear a happy puppy when it barks, "Woof, woof.". And I help you smell a pretty flower in the garden. I am your wonderful window to the whole wide world.

People have always had me, but for a long, long time, I didn't have a name. It was a secret. Then, in a sunny place called Ancient Greece, a very smart thinker named Aristotle noticed all the amazing things I could do. This was way back in the 4th century BCE. He thought and thought. He realized I wasn't just one thing, but a super team of five helpers. He wanted everyone to know my team, so he gave each part a special name. He called them Sight for seeing, Hearing for listening, Smell for sniffing, Taste for yummy foods, and Touch for feeling things.

Now you know my secret. I am your Five Senses. We are an amazing team, and we work together to help you learn and play every single day. I help you see colorful pictures in your books. I help you hear your favorite songs and dance around. I help you taste yummy birthday cake and smell the candles. I help you feel a warm, cozy hug from someone you love. I am always with you, making your world full of fun things to see, hear, smell, taste, and feel on every adventure.
