Just want Casa Batlló?
In a busy city called Barcelona, there is a house that looks like it came from a dream. My walls are not straight and flat; they ripple and wave like the sea. My roof is curved and colorful, like the back of a friendly dragon sleeping in the sun. My skin is covered in shiny, colorful tiles that sparkle like fish scales in the light, and my balconies look like funny masks. My big, round windows are like giant bubbles floating up to the sky. I am Casa Batlló, a house full of stories and wonder. I love to make people smile when they see my colors and shapes.
Once, a long time ago, I was just a plain, ordinary building. But then, a man with a big imagination named Antoni Gaudí came to help me. Between the years 1904 and 1906, he gave me a magical makeover for a family called the Batllós who wanted a very special home. Antoni loved nature, and he filled me with its shapes. He made my pillars look like the long legs of an animal, and my ceilings swirl like water. He didn't use straight lines because he said there are no straight lines in nature. When I was finished, people would stop and stare. They had never seen a house that looked so alive and so happy.
Today, I am still standing tall in Barcelona, and people from all over the world come to visit me. Children run through my wavy rooms, look out my bubbly windows, and climb my swirly stairs. They pretend they are inside a sea cave or visiting a friendly dragon's lair. I love hearing their happy giggles echo through my halls. I show everyone that with a little imagination, you can build something truly wonderful. I am a reminder to always look for the magic in the world around you, because sometimes, it is hiding in the shape of a house.
